minted holiday cards

as promised here are a couple of my minted holiday party invitations i submitted recently. winners to be annouced soon; i'm keeping my fingers crossed!

it's been a crazy, amazing, emotional, exciting and truely rewarding month.

oh and this happened :)
we haven't had the official wedding photographs in yet but i plan on doing a round-up of all our wonderful vendors once they're through. i'm looking forward to getting back into regular blogging starting tomorrow with some of my recent minted designs.

a sneak peek at some internet shopping i did this morning while eating my toast and honey :) cylburn is the latest release from the lost type co-op and is a beautiful 'semi-connected script structurally based on Roundhand but written with a pointed brush and restrained tension that separate it from its traditional roots'. the lost type co-op is founded on the 'pay-what-you-want' model with 100% of the profits going to the font designer.

pop roc parties

we're on the two-week-fourteen-sleeps countdown to our wedding and as an distraction from all the boring (yet, incredibly important details like plan b if it rains, or how much wine will 90 people drink?) i went on a little shopping spree at pop roc parties. pop roc parties is a new zealand company, so shipping is reasonable and delivery was super fast. the best thing about pop roc is the selection of goodies; jars, twine, itty bitty kraft bags, the list goes on. it's worth liking them on facebook to keep up-to-date with specials, etc. i'm already on my second order :)

overwhelmed by choosing fonts for your next project? fret no more wordmark.it has come to the rescue. simply type in your required copy and word mark will preview of all the fonts in your computers collection. plus you can easily switch between positive/negative and lower, sentence case or ALL CAPITALS. a handy little tool to get the creative process started!

april

april is for dreaming of new beginnings, cooler nights and finally, the removal of my last, troublesome wisdom tooth. i'm lying on the couch recuperating and thought this april moodboard by sarah of note to self was the perfect accompaniment to this post. hope the start of april is treating you well!x

as google web fonts continues to grow the range of choices get better and better. google web fonts offer a wide range of open source fonts that are free and easy to use on your next web project. searching through the hundreds of options can be time-consuming especially as viewing them in type specimens isn't nearly as inspiring as seeing them in action. that's where the following sites are a great place to start or refer to throughout a web project:

celebrating summer

the days are definitely getting shorter around here so to celebrate the amazing summer we have had (or if you live in the hawke's bay, still having) i thought i'd share some diana photos of a lunch we had at craggy range. it was new years eve and blisteringly hot, the boys had just got back from golf and we'd been shopping in havelock north. we sat and drank pinot gris and savoured the moment with good friends.

blogging

phew, when life gets busy it seems blogging is the first thing that goes.

two things i've seen this week that have encouraged me to get back in the blogging swing of things...
first up, kate spade saturday. as part of the kate spade family, saturday brings the love of quirk and colour of kate spade at a more affordable pricepoint. the website design is spot on and i love the array of dresses, bags and even homewares. if only they shipped to nz!

the other is this photo of victoria of sfgirlbybay, over at the every girl.
