christmas creations

just a quick post {i'm meant to be packing for our trip up to tauranga!} to wish you all a very merry christmas and a wonderful new year!

here's just a few pics of some of the festive fun i've created over the past week..

 

presents! the boy is notoriously hard to buy for so this year i decided a stocking of all his favourite things would make the perfect christmas present :)

at work we had a 'door decorating' competition and what better way to celebrate the festive season than with a kraft christmas tree?!

 

 a close up of all the curls... we ended up being joint winners, so it was worth all those paper cuts!

i am totally addicted to print...

yes i am one of those strange people who get all giddy at a book store/library/magazine rack... 

lately i have been considerably restrained when it has come to opening my wallet to purchase such goodies. that was until the other weekend when i was out shopping (yes, for christmas presents. yes, i have treated myself to quite a few presents ahead of the big day!) and i caught sight of this beauty...

ok so my new blogging idea hasn't quite eventuated but don't they say good things take time?! ha. to say that my creative mojo has up and left is really an understatement. i'm trying not to sweat it too much {because worrying never much helped anyone}

ok it's time for a new plan. as much as i love blogging, our terribly slow internet connection and 8 hours a day spent in-front of a computer at work is starting to kill the vibe. so i'm going to try and mix it up a bit and handwrite my blogs in my new kikki k journal and then upload them at night. tonight's post is a quote i found via makeunder my life in a truly inspiring segment she runs called design your life. 

 

and suddenly it's friday again...

whoa... where did the week go? this time last week we were up in auckland

 

 yup, i totally surprised the boy with tickets to pearl jam. they were amazing live. it was so much fun to have a mini vacation just before the silly season. 

we've got friends coming for dinner so better keep this short... heaps of projects on the cards for this weekend (my first at home since late october!), hopefully some long overdue blogging and plans get my google reader back to a readable level!

sweet dreams

when i was younger and having trouble sleeping my mum used to tell me to think of nice things and then i'd have sweet dreams. well i've fallen in love with this swedish home and i wish i lived there...even just in my dreams

birthday book

 

i love birthdays... and when it came time for me to think of a present for the boy's mum, a custom mini was top of the list. i was initially inspired for the format of this book by ali's december daily album {she used a canvas book made by prima}. i created mine with chipboard and covered the covers with a very cool fabric i picked up in spotlight. the most complicated part of this book was placement of the spine holes. luckily my partner in crime is an engineer so he handled all the measurements and the rings just fit! {email me if you would like exact measurements or dimensions to make your own}. once the cover was finished i created dividers with my stampin' up scallop punch for
