of my 12 week fitness challenge. phew. so i've made it through week one! this time last week my muscles were so sore i couldn't even get in and out of the car normally. and by normally i mean without grimacing + swearing + strange looks from other people in the carpark.
week two is so far going a lot better. although i have picked up a cold :( on saturday my friend bailey and i went and looked at the new season togs {or swimwear, if you don't live in nz} that are starting to arrive in store...
today i found a new respect for picture framers after spending most of the afternoon helping my flatmate re-frame a series of photographs.
it went a little something like this...
measure twice.
cut once.
cut again because something went crooked with your 30cm ruler (and the frames are 70+cm so just imagine the frustration).
abandon all hope.
draw around the insert that came with the frame. voila!
stand back and admire your handiwork.
realise the inside of the glass is dirty.
shake head. move picture to outer edge of arrangement.
the end.
today i also fell head-over-heels in love with this print from aroha lamour...
it looks much brighter in real life. the colour is a sort of turquoise/green. absolutely stunning.
wow i can't believe i haven't posted in so long... it's hard exactly to define what i've been doing all last week but i think the combination of a new house and a dodgy (read: verrrrry slow and not linked to my mac) internet connection has had a lot to do with it.
we had a fun weekend. no plans. which was odd. but wonderful. we made a list of all the house-hold things we needed/wanted/had been waiting to buy for ages but needed the other person's nod {obviously all my list!}
all good shopping days start at starbucks. and i have to say i'm a teensy bit glad that we have to drive 20 minutes to pick up a caramel frappacino otherwise my bank account could be seriously depleted. mmmm m m m
no photos of the actual shopping, but i do have a pic of the latest addition to our little family i picked up from an antique shop on the drive home...
ooh! i am still so happy to have found this amazing kodak tourist. yes i will admit that name did seal the deal. i'm not sure if i got a bargain or not but such is the nature of finding items such as this, i was reluctant to leave it behind!

ta-da! funny huh? we had to take the work van and an extra car to fit in my very important passengers! we are all settling in nicely in our new abode. the house we have moved to is still in the country so we are surrounded by lots of gardens and grass and we even have a couple of native parrots keeping us company. and did i mention we have his & hers wardrobes, with custom shelving! oh my goodness i feel like carrie in sex & the city (except with none of the amazing shoes). i gotta go shopping to fill it up!
i'm gonna miss our little house at the beach.
last night i pulled up to the house and it was still light {almost time to welcome daylight savings} and my tulips were smiling in all their bright, coloured glory. i sat outside with a glass of wine and counted my blessings.
today we are moving. the boy is vacuming and packing and sweeping and i am stuck between helping and wanting to stay here. to put my roots down. to make a home.
but onwards and upwards. i have ideas swirling. boxes to unpack.

another very inspiring lady is the lovely rachel, who not only has a great blog {with laugh-out-loud funny stories about her sweet dog} but has also started selling her jewelry on etsy.
did i mention i've started a list for father christmas already? ;)
i came across little jane street via the always inspiring dumbofeather. alarna designs a range of boutique stationery items and these heart garlands are so so cute!
i love to read stories about people following their creative passions. having a day job that doesn't just simply 'pay-the-bills'. if you've got really good eyesight you can read a little of alarna's story here.
so then onto my little paper adventure... i've been sketching all week and haven't quite had the space in my head to put it all together but thought i would share a little peek at the printable project i mentioned earlier in the week...
my life plan just didn't feel right jotted in the back of an exercise book, so i thought i'd make some pretty 'workbook' pages... more to come! feedback always welcome...
