i also caught up with lots of lovely friends + my google reader {i'm still stoked to be at zero} + made training dates + plans for labour weekend + and have the long-lost-and-deliciously-welcome return of my creative spark...
so exciting! happy monday to you all!
it's race day here in the beautiful hawkes bay on saturday. this is the second year we've gone along and this year i decided {through a combination of disorganisation & low funds} that i wasn't going to buy a new dress/heels/earrings/necklace. i was instead going to wear a dress i already owned... {cue scary music!}
i will at this point add the disclaimer that if past form is anything to go by, come saturday morning i will be in an utter panic and be wishing against all hope that karen walker is going to drop by with a gorgeous spring dress...
anyways. so the dress i'm wearing is grey and very pretty but grey all the same. it needs a splash of colour. so monday night i decided to get a little crafty. totally inspired by rachel from heart of light & 100 layer cake i've started making my very own ruffly headband.
will hopefully have some finished pics to share tonight...
of my 12 week fitness challenge. phew. so i've made it through week one! this time last week my muscles were so sore i couldn't even get in and out of the car normally. and by normally i mean without grimacing + swearing + strange looks from other people in the carpark.
week two is so far going a lot better. although i have picked up a cold :( on saturday my friend bailey and i went and looked at the new season togs {or swimwear, if you don't live in nz} that are starting to arrive in store...
wow i can't believe i haven't posted in so long... it's hard exactly to define what i've been doing all last week but i think the combination of a new house and a dodgy (read: verrrrry slow and not linked to my mac) internet connection has had a lot to do with it.
we had a fun weekend. no plans. which was odd. but wonderful. we made a list of all the house-hold things we needed/wanted/had been waiting to buy for ages but needed the other person's nod {obviously all my list!}
all good shopping days start at starbucks. and i have to say i'm a teensy bit glad that we have to drive 20 minutes to pick up a caramel frappacino otherwise my bank account could be seriously depleted. mmmm m m m
no photos of the actual shopping, but i do have a pic of the latest addition to our little family i picked up from an antique shop on the drive home...
ooh! i am still so happy to have found this amazing kodak tourist. yes i will admit that name did seal the deal. i'm not sure if i got a bargain or not but such is the nature of finding items such as this, i was reluctant to leave it behind!

a while ago you may remember i made a pile of fabric journals to sell at a quilting show {see here for more behind-the-scenes}. well with monday a holiday here i made the most of my long weekend and took a trip home to visit the lovely ladies at quilters lane, who sold my journals on their stand. and good news! i sold 12 :) so that means i have a few extra to sell on felt and trademe. im already suffering a little analysis paralysis, check out this great article on decor8. but i do love this fabric adventure...
yesterday afternoon i finally planted my tulips (#5 on the list). i've planted 15 so far, in two long planter boxes. i wore my most chic gardening outfit > pj pants, an old jersey belonging to the boy with socks & jandals. funnily enough there were no photos taken of my ensemble...
