my love of kikki k is well known. so well known in fact that the moment i walked into their christchurch store last weekend my family all looked at one another and declared they were off to get some food and left me to it.
i can't quite put my finger on what makes this stationery store so appealing, but i'm guessing it has a lot to do with beautiful scandinavian design and their knack of making things you never knew you could live without.
i'd been eyeing up this journal for quite some time and decided to take the plunge...
Your year begins today. 365, a journal to commence at any point in the year for a new job, a new semester, or a new lease on life. This journal is not dated, meaning you can start from page 1 at any point in the year. what can i say? from the concept to the serif font, to the cloth cover and jaunty yellow insert patterns it's a beautiful journal. so what am i going to do with it?p.s. ha! no sadly, this isn't the point where i explain my amazing 365 plan. i've had a ton of ideas (drawing a day, pattern a day, glueing in bits from my day) but i'm nervous about sustaining it for a year.
so, dear readers, any ideas??
It might seem a bit boring (but then aren't the simplest things the ones you stick with?) but I would suggest just making a list of what you have done that day. No comment needed, just your activities no matter how dull. It is actually really nice to have a simple record of what you have been up to. This year was the first year that I didn't keep a diary like this and I have really missed being able to see what my weeks and months were filled with. It's reassuring knowing you will never forget those moments.
Alternatively listing 5 of your favourite things that happened each day makes for an even more positive collection of memories.

What about "something" a day? Just whatever you feel like at that day, whether a list, a recipe, a photo, a drawing, a souvenir... Just add a little comment to it, and it'll be very personal.
