my friend jess and i had a great time over the weekend participating in the fruit bowl craft jam. we've had a few days where we coincidently wear the same outfit so we decided why not go all out and wear matching polka dot t-shirts from cotton on!
the fair itself was a good way to meet other creative/crafty types. our favorites were dustys and lulu (super cute pillowcases), j.danes maker and rachel paper. an awesome way to support local, handmade gifts this christmas!

we had a busy, inspiring and productive weekend including trying the new fg smith eatery in ahuriri (if you go you have to have the ICE CREAM SANDWICH, it's in captials because it was AMAZING!), attended the world press photo exhibition (grim but superb), looked at a possible wedding venue (yes, that is a chandelier in the middle of the bush) and also finished creating some thank you tags for my friend's new business (check back later in the week to see more).
phew! good thing we've got a four day weekend coming up! :)

while in new york megan and i were lucky enough to stumble upon the upper rust (with such fantastic neighbors as pink olive and cloak and dagger) a beautiful antique store. i picked up a vintage drawer which just so happens to be the perfect size to store my ribbon and washi tape stash. finally, a souvenir that doesn't gather dust ;)
recent favourites; new pajamas from cotton on, a sweet pencil from the social type at nss and new hoop earrings. all shown sitting on top of the latest issue of the department store magazine.

here's a couple of things that are brightening up my day!
my new madewell shirt - a definite departure from my usual style but it's fitting into my wardrobe so well, i'm wondering what other gems i'm missing out on!
