after a whole two weeks of planning + sketching + collecting and finally creating i've got some pages of my style file all ready to share. the rest of the pages are awaiting photos that are sitting patiently in my diana camera ready to be processed. this time i'm going to be sensible and wait for the light-tight bag to avoid potential heartbreak.
anyways, i loved vee's style files workshop. click here to view some of her pages. she always has great style + super creative + has the coolest nail polish!
here's a couple of my pages...
and my favourite so far...
a selection of my dresses... i love dresses. i took photos of my favourites, traced round them in photoshop, printed and recorded. more pages as they happen! thanks for looking.x

my love of kikki k is well known. so well known in fact that the moment i walked into their christchurch store last weekend my family all looked at one another and declared they were off to get some food and left me to it.
i can't quite put my finger on what makes this stationery store so appealing, but i'm guessing it has a lot to do with beautiful scandinavian design and their knack of making things you never knew you could live without.
i'd been eyeing up this journal for quite some time and decided to take the plunge...
Your year begins today. 365, a journal to commence at any point in the year for a new job, a new semester, or a new lease on life. This journal is not dated, meaning you can start from page 1 at any point in the year. what can i say? from the concept to the serif font, to the cloth cover and jaunty yellow insert patterns it's a beautiful journal. so what am i going to do with it?p.s. ha! no sadly, this isn't the point where i explain my amazing 365 plan. i've had a ton of ideas (drawing a day, pattern a day, glueing in bits from my day) but i'm nervous about sustaining it for a year.
so, dear readers, any ideas??
i have been unsuccessfully trying to make the following post less... ahhh... geeky but figure we are all friends here right?
anyways one of my total random purchases over the weekend was this pantone mug. in my favourite colour (337C likened to a 'duck egg blue')
tape strips courtesy of pugly pixel
and it's just been delivered to my crafty nook {as evidenced in the background} brimming with a hot cup of tea... perfection!
i'm addicted.
again.
net-a-porter
even the description sounds like poetry...
"Antique-rose sleeveless silk-chiffon shift dress with bead and jewel-embellished shoulders. 3.1 Phillip Lim dress has a detachable self-tie grosgrain and leather belt with jewel embellishment, a grosgrain-trimmed neck and self-tie keyhole at back of the neck, an intentional raw hem and simply slips on. 100% silk."
especially cruel when i calculate how much wear i would get out of dress this gorgeous, divide it by how much i earn per hour, multiply by the number of minutes i would go before dropping food down the front (last wedding i managed 40 minutes before a mini-pie became acquainted with the front of my dress) and really it all equals unrequited love.
continuing on from yesterday's post, here's rebecca taylor's initial sketch and then the finished catwalk look (found in yesterday's dominion post)...
her inspiration? a mixture of "70s parisian attitude and and an urban, new york city girl". stunning. she's originally from new zealand. and i wish this dress was in nz$ because maybe, just maybe i could save for it....
